LAMB

Grown on the fertile lands of the Moonie River catchment in south-west Queensland, Coggan Farms meat sheep are produced with the support of high-quality, specialised genetic support and the latest technology and research. With animal welfare at the forefront of on-farm practices, Coggan sheep are hormone and steroid free, with a lifetime traceability to Coggan Farms. As shedding sheep, they do not require their tails to be removed, mulesing, shearing or chemicals to control fly strike.

The Process

Coggan sheep have an accelerated fattening period, allowing for a consistent and reliable product at market. The Coggan livestock team is dedicated to rearing animals in a safe, stress-free environment through efficient and sustainable practices. In doing so, Coggan Farms often provide animals with additional nutrition to alleviate any sustenance pressures they have, including gestation and lactation. Alongside this, Coggan Farms has an abundance of highly progressive pasture management and water infrastructure to ensure rotation across all pastures for the sheep. The environment enables lambs to have a continuous, stable nutrition source, resulting in consistent eating quality, which sets them apart from producers worldwide.
